There’s a very big chance that these are scams to get your personal data, financial status and your credit card numbers.
Kids will of course be excited to learn that they have won something online without even doing anything or actually joining any type of contest. Often, these scams will require personal information, bank details and/or credit card numbers before you can actually claim your prize.
Online harassment in the form of bullying, eliciting fear from the victim and manipulating the victim to do something objectionable are also common online dangers.
The Need for Online Protection
With children online protection is an important issue that parents need to discuss with them. Unless they fully understand that there is a need for them to protect themselves online, the kids may not be so accommodating with the online safety measures that their parents have put in place.
